We Engage in Active Protection of Our Environment
Environmental protection is a long-standing Pilatus belief and is firmly established in our vision. As a leading aircraft designer and manufacturer, Pilatus recognises its obligation to exercise responsibility and due care in its use of available raw materials and energy resources. Maintaining consumption to an absolute minimum is of the utmost priority. Measures include the continuous optimisation of manufacturing processes, a sustainable infrastructure and, above all, the development of aircraft with greater fuel efficiency and low noise emissions.
A Company-Wide Commitment
Our buildings, for example, are now largely heated with renewable energy supplied by a regional wood-gas power plant. The plant is fuelled by locally grown forest timber and waste wood. Pilatus also obtains most of its electricity from hydroelectric power plants in canton Nidwalden. Pilatus is certified under ISO 14001 in recognition of its environment-friendly management system and corporate philosophy. Environmental protection is an obligation across the entire company.
